South Bend Community School Corporation Calendar 2026-2027

South Bend offers more than one way to reach eighth grade. Clay International Academy, Edison K–8 School, Marshall Traditional School, and Marquette Montessori Academy keep students within one named school through grade eight. Dickinson Academy’s current curriculum is organized for grades six through eight, placing it alongside Jackson, Jefferson, LaSalle, and Navarre in the district’s middle-grade network.

Program identity can reshape the route long before high school. Montessori, traditional, international, fine-arts, magnet, and neighborhood options use different application or assignment patterns. A child enrolled at a K–8 specialty school may avoid the separate sixth-grade move experienced by students coming from a conventional elementary campus. The campus history depends on both the address and the program selected.

Current district operating pages center Adams, Riley, and Washington as the comprehensive high-school campuses. Rise Up Academy offers a smaller credit-recovery setting, and South Bend Virtual provides online enrollment. At the Clay site, the current CTE program serves students from Adams, Riley, Washington, and Marion in Culinary Arts, Welding Technology, and Dental Careers. Some district menus still retain the Clay High School name even as the current site page presents Clay as a CTE program.
