School City of East Chicago
School City of East Chicago’s current physical network consists of Harrison, Lincoln, McKinley, and Washington elementary schools, Joseph L. Block Middle School, and East Chicago Central High School. Joseph L. Block and East Chicago Central become the shared secondary campuses.
Carrie Gosch Early Learning Center closed after the 2025–26 school year. Beginning in 2026–27, Pre-K students attend their district elementary school, use dedicated transportation routes, and follow a shorter school day that begins later in August than the K–12 calendar.
East Chicago Central carries the shared high-school program. Current school reporting highlights twelve CTE career pathways and more than 1,200 earned concurrent-credit hours, giving students technical and college-credit options within the single high-school community.
