Northwest Allen County Schools Calendar 2026-2027

Northwest Allen County Schools enters 2026–27 with a new middle-school map. Eight elementary schools feed a secondary system that now includes Carroll, Maple Creek, and the newly opened Willow Creek Middle School. Willow Creek began serving students in fall 2026, adding a third middle campus to a district that had previously divided the middle grades between two schools.

The opening required every middle-school boundary to be reconsidered. The board approved the Cedar Canyon Split plan in January 2026 after reviewing multiple options and family feedback. A student who would have followed an older Carroll or Maple Creek route may have a different assignment under the new map, even when the home address has not changed.

The three middle schools continue to one districtwide high-school destination, Carroll High School. The principal change for families is concentrated in the middle grades: a new campus, new feeder relationships, and new transportation patterns, followed by a shared ninth-grade destination.

NACS also introduced limited nonresident open enrollment for 2026–27. Approval precedes formal registration and depends on the places made available by the district. Resident boundary assignment and out-of-district admission operate through separate processes, so families need to identify which route applies before completing enrollment.
