Portage Township Schools Calendar 2026-2027

Portage Township Schools begins 2026–27 with a newly consolidated middle-grade sequence. The elementary network continues through fourth grade. Fegely Intermediate School now receives every fifth- and sixth-grader, bringing the district together on one campus two years earlier than high school.

Willowcreek Middle School takes over for grades seven and eight. This replaces the earlier arrangement in which Fegely and Willowcreek each carried broader middle-grade groups. The reorganization changes both the grade span of the buildings and the feeder map: the current route is elementary→Fegely 5–6→Willowcreek 7–8→Portage High School.

Transportation, bell times, activities, and sibling schedules now follow the new division: Fegely handles the two intermediate grades, and Willowcreek handles the two middle-school grades. Once students enter fifth grade, the physical route is districtwide through Portage High.

Portage also opened limited nonresident enrollment for 2026–27, initially for kindergarten and first grade. That process is separate from ordinary resident assignment and does not alter the districtwide fifth- through twelfth-grade sequence.
