John Glenn School Corporation Calendar 2027-2028

John Glenn School Corporation preserves two elementary communities through sixth grade. North Liberty and Walkerton elementary schools each serve kindergarten through grade six, Harold C. Urey Middle School receives grades seven and eight, and John Glenn High School becomes the shared grade 9–12 campus. Keeping students in the elementary community through sixth grade delays the first districtwide transition until seventh grade.

Urey has been expanding the transition into secondary study through STEAM and high-school-credit work. Current district updates describe engineering opportunities and courses that connect design, technology, and career exploration. Students spend two years at the common middle school, where those courses can begin shaping the credits and pathways they pursue at John Glenn High.

John Glenn High broadens the shared route through dual credit, Advanced Placement, and career and technical education. John Glenn Virtual Academy currently serves grades four through ten as a tuition-free public program for resident and eligible nonresident students, subject to space and district approval. The academy is designed for first-time grade-level coursework; credit recovery is handled through other supports. Virtual enrollment establishes a different primary learning setting while keeping students inside John Glenn School Corporation.
