New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated School Corporation
New Albany-Floyd County moves students into the middle grades after fourth grade. Most elementary campuses serve preschool or kindergarten through grade four, and the next school carries grades five through eight. That four-year middle span is longer than the common 6–8 model and makes fifth grade the district’s first major secondary transition.
The attendance map then divides between Floyd Central High School and New Albany High School for the upper secondary years. A student’s elementary and middle assignment helps determine which of those two high-school communities becomes the graduation home. The local route remains recognizable even across a large consolidated corporation.
Prosser Career Education Center enters during the upper high-school years. It serves NAFCS students and students from neighboring corporations through regional career programs, typically alongside the sending school’s diploma plan. Participants may spend part of the day at Prosser and the rest at Floyd Central, New Albany, or another partner high school. The district’s ordinary structure remains PK/K–4→5–8→9–12, with Prosser adding specialized career study late in the sequence.
